Dorothy R. (McClory) Gordinas, 88, of Marblehead and Lynn, died April 2 at the Lafayette Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (McNulty) McClory and loving wife of the late Joseph Gordinas.
Dorothy was raised and educated in the Lynn school system; she had been employed as a part-time waitress with the Luther Witham’s Catering firm of Lynn and also employed with the Champion Lamp Company of Lynn.
She was past prefect of the St. Patrick’s Parish Sodality and a volunteer at the St. Patrick’s Asian Center where she taught English courses. She also taught at the Head Start program at the Connery School. She spent her winters in Florida, she loved to sing and she was a great dancer, she was always helping people in need and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, John Gordinas of Swampscott, Richard Gordinas of Sanford, Maine, Patrick Gordinas of Louisville, Ky.; her three daughters, Dorothy Ashley Belville of Berwick, Maine, Elaina Caswell of Kingston, N.H., Rosemary Gordinas of Swampscott; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her late children Baby Joseph, Joseph F., Brian and James, and sister of the late Margaret Roberts, Mary Guerin, John, James, Joseph, Raymond, Donald, Charles, Richard and Thomas McClory, and several nieces and nephews.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Tuesday, April 7 from the NADWORNY Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn at 9:30 a.m., followed by her Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
