Bonita Kinchen Rutherford, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at her residence in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Rutherford was born July 15, 1940, in Fitzgerald, to the late Weldon and Willie Mae Barnes Kinchen. She lived in the community all of her life and was a 1958 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She later attended college in Waycross and was a former employee for the Census Bureau. Mrs. Rutherford was a member of Christian Fellowship International in Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her children: Teresa Paul & Kim Paul, Chad Rutherford, Stephen Gordon & Christy Gordon, all of Fitzgerald and Jonathan Gordon of Anchorage, Alaska; stepchildren: Sandi Gibbs and Pam Nugent of Mexico Beach, Florida, and Robert & Terri Rutherford of Hampton, Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a stepsister: Gail Clark of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Carlton Gordon, her second husband: Charles Rutherford, Sr. and a stepson: Charles Rutherford, Jr.
