SHREWSBURY-M. Joy (Reid) Foley, 79, of The Southgate Community formerly of Boylston passed away Monday, March 30 in Shrewsbury, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves a son, Michael A. and his wife, Robyn Foley of Boylston;
two grandsons, Noah and Luke; a sister, Beverly and her husband, Jim Scott of West Boylston; two nephews, Timothy Scott of New Orleans, LA and Steven Scott of Holden and her best-friend, June Jurey of Worcester. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Theodore B. and Margaret E. (Shea) Reid and graduated from Classical High School, Quinsigamond Community College and Clark University.
Joy worked at State Mutual Assurance Company for 40 years, retiring as Director of Group Pensions. In her retirement she did consultant work for Summit Financial in Lexington. She was a member of Saint Mary’s of the Hill Church, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and volunteered at RSVP for several years.
Joy loved attending her son's sporting events and in later years her grandchildren event and she was an avid sports fan.
Visiting Hours are Monday, April 6 from 5 to 8 PM at CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. The Funeral will be held Tuesday, April 7, from the Funeral Home, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's of the Hill Church, 640 Cross Street, Boylston. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston.
