Gertrude Labonte 91, formerly of Wrentham Manor in Bellingham, died March 30, 2015 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Labonte. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Hildege and Eva (Lemariere) Rondeau. Gertrude worked in the drawing department of the French Worsted Co. for nineteen years, she also worked at the Wrentham State School before retiring in 1985. Gertrude was a member of St. Joseph Sr. Citizens and the former St. Louis Sr.Citizens.
She is survived by a son, Robert G. Labonte of Norfolk, two daughters, Suzanne Gagnon of Douglas and Denise Ehnes of Bellingham, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Oscar Rondeau and Rita Duhamel.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in St. Theresa’s Church, Rathbun St. Blackstone. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-7 PM.
