Campton, NH-----Gerald James Zinfon, 78, of Beech Hill Road, died on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH.
Gerald was born on February 27, 1937 in Boston, Mass. the son of Charles and Mary (Mahoney) Zinfon.
Gerald received his A.B. from Suffolk University in 1963, an M.A. from Northeastern University in 1969, and his Ph.D. from Duke University in 1982. He taught English at Plymouth State University, Plymouth NH for thirty years, retiring in 1999 as Professor Emeritus.
Gerald served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 promptly at 1:00pm at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Lissa (Pearson) Zinfon, of Campton, NH; a son, Mark Zinfon of Dublin, OH; a daughter, Nyla Zinfon, of Arlington, MA; and three grandchildren, Emily, Mary and Peter Zinfon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
