Richard C. “Dick” Vacchino, Sr., age 72, of Brockton, died peacefully March 29, 2015 at Copley at Stoughton following a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of the late Marilynn A. (Tillson) Vacchino. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Carlo and Doris (Gray) Vacchino. Dick was raised and educated in Plymouth and had been employed at Franklin Sports, USM Corporation in Whitman and Tuxedos by Merian in Brockton. He enjoyed riding his bike and taking road trips. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and house painting.
Dick is survived by his children Sherry Bliss and her husband Craig of Taunton, Carol Vacchino of Brockton, Derek Vacchino, Sr. of Taunton and Lisa Vacchino of Brockton; nine grandchildren Richard Vacchino, Paul, Eric and Nicole Bliss, Derek, Jr., John, Jayden and Peter Vacchino and Amanda Vacchino. He was the father of the late Richard Vacchino, Jr. and brother of the late John and Carol Vacchino.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-7pm.
