Edward A. Ustaszewski, age 87, died at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Saturday, March 28, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Frank and Antonina (Powichrowski) Ustaszewski and beloved husband of Cecilia (Pietrowski) Ustaszewski. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and Boston College.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was employed as a teacher in the Lynn school system before retiring.
He was a member of the Polish Legion American Veterans Post 56, St. Michael’s PNA Lodge 630, Knights of Columbus Valladolid 70 and the Lynn Teachers Union. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church before its closing and an active member of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by one son, Mark Ustaszewski and his wife Tracy of Nottingham, N.H.; two daughters, Judith Stegenga and her husband Kurt of Swampscott, Mary Lowe and her husband Tim of Nahant; six grandchildren, Matthew and Caitlyn Ustaszewski, Jacob and Benjamin Stegenga, James and Zachary Lowe; his sister, Helen Dydo of Rye, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barney, Stanley, Rev. Thaddeus, Sigmond, Sophie and William Ustaszewski and Frances Zukowski.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial funeral Mass Friday, April 10 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the NADWORNY Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn.
