KEEN - Miyo Keen, 84, of Yulee, FL passed away Saturday morning, March 28, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Mrs. Keen was born March 8, 1931 in Sapporo, Japan and moved to Yulee in 1971 after traveling extensively with her family during her late husband's military career. She was a devoted member of Yulee Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was also an active member of the Strutting Purple Peacock chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Keen was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Keen who passed away in 2000 and her son in law, Ron Salmon, who passed away in 2009. Also preceding her were her parents, Tomoichi and Mayo Miura; a brother Tadaichi Miura; and a sister, Toyo Miura.
Survivors include two sons, Walter Keen, Sr. (Susie) of Jacksonville, FL and Raymond Keen of Fernandina Beach, FL; a daughter, Janet Keen Salmon, also of Fernandina Beach; a sister, Tomo Miura Yoshida who lives in Japan; eight grandchildren, Walter Keen, Jr., Darrell Keen, Tiffany Keen-Davis, Brantley Keen, Heather Keen Edmonds, David Keen, Marshall Salmon and Riley Salmon; and seven great grandchildren, Marcus, Hunter, Tailynn, Hana, Thomas, Coleman and Madison.
Funeral services will be held at Yulee Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, with Pastor Doug Sides officiating. A reception will follow at the church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
