Richard P. “Dee” Mann
...worked at USPS, Veteran, formerly of Tewksbury; 51
LOWELL - Richard P. “Dee” Mann, age 51, a member of a well known Tewksbury family, died
Friday evening, Jan. 28, at his Centerville home, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband
of Theresa H. “Didie” (Caron) Mann, with whom he had celebrated a 21st wedding anniversary
this past July 2nd.
He was born in Everett, May 31, 1953, a son of Marie T. (Sutton) Mann of Tewksbury and the
late Robert F. Mann. He was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury Memorial High
School where he excelled in track.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged.
He was a former communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, where he served as an Altar
Boy in his youth.
He worked as a custodian at the South Station Post Office.
He was also a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge # 2070, and was an avid
fisherman and golfer. He was proud to have accomplished a hole-in-one at the Billerica Country
Club.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tracy and her
husband Edward Theodos of Waterville, ME, and Christine Sawyer of Dracut; one brother,
Robert W. “Bubba” Mann of Tewksbury; two sisters, Carol M. “Auntie” Mann of Franklin, NH,
and Patricia A. “Pudgy” Brothers-Kloppenburg of Tewksbury; six grandsons, Joshua Hancock,
Brandon Barclay, Alex Theodos, and Kasey Theodos all of Maine, Steven and Codey Sawyer
both of Dracut; also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 2, in St. William’s Church,
Tewksbury. Interment was in St. Joseph’s
Cemetery, Chelmsford Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham,
MA 01701-9376 will be appreciated.
