DIGHTON – Mary (Dutra) Francis, wife of the late Manuel L. Francis, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on March 27, 2015.
She was 93.
Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Rose) Dutra.
A longtime resident of Dighton, Mary was a 1939 graduate of the former Dighton High School.
She was employed by Taunton’s Ad-A-Day Company for many years, retiring many years ago.
A communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton, Mary enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Michael Francis of Dighton; three daughters, Valerie Francis of Taunton, Dorothy Delsignore and her husband Sam of Rehoboth and Michelle Rosenberg and her husband Steven of Hingham; four brothers, James Dutra of Dighton, Lawrence Dutra of Taunton, David Dutra of S. Kingston, RI; a sister, Alice Perry of N. Dighton; five grandchildren, Diane, Denise, Alicia, Kevin and Brian; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Robert, John, Frank, George, Thomas and Dorothy Dutra, Caroline Suite and, Margaret Pires.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, April 2nd at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, N. Dighton at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 1st from 4 to 8 p.m.
