BEVERLY: Rose A. (Bernard) Walsh, 93, died peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Aberjona Nursing Home, Winchester. She was the wife of the late George F. Walsh, Sr. who died in 2007.
Born on November 26, 1921 and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Marie (Claveau) Bernard. She had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Melrose in the past few years. Rose worked as an auxiliary traffic officer for the City of Beverly for many years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy M. Walsh and Arthur Harris of Capitola, CA; her son and daughter-in-law, George F., Jr. and Carolyn (Fusco) Walsh of Stoneham; four grandchildren, Pamela Beaton of Alexandria, VA, Paul Beaton and his wife, Missy Abel of Henderson, NV, Meghan Walsh of Wakefield and Kaitlin Walsh of Stoneham; a brother-in-law, William Walsh of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Celina Kasprzyk and her brother, Armand Bernard. She was very fond of her great-grand dog, “Toby”.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Saturday in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., (Rt. 114) Peabody-Salem line at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
