Hubert L. Murray, 85, of Lakeland, Florida, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Florida.
Memorial services will be held 7 PM, Monday, January 31, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Steve O’Neal and Rev. Reggie Scarborough officiating.
Mr. Murray was born April 16, 1919, in Rebecca, Georgia, to the late Clarence Hobson and Minnie Lou Evans Murray. He retired from Leonard Brothers Transfer Company in Miami, Florida. Mr. Murray served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife: Eleanor Greusel Murray, Lakeland, FL; three brothers: Walter H. Murray, Cordele, GA, Albert Cleo Murray, Lexington, NC and William C. “Bill” Murray, Fitzgerald, GA; five sisters: Ola Register, Frances Crozier and Barbara Billingsley, all of Fitzgerald, Minnie Ruth Coker, Dade City, FL and Carolyn Wilson, Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Wadel Murray, sisters, Ruby Murray, Thelma Wade and Gloria Strickland.
