Obituary

Evelyn M. (Picardi) Mochi, age 83, of Arlington, formerly of Somerville, died Tuesday at the Integrated Health Services of Medford, after a brief illness. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Amato and Letizia (Vena) Picardi.

Mrs. Mochi lived in Somerville where she was raised and met her late husband Eugene J. Mochi, Sr., who died in November of 1999. Evelyn and her husband Eugene would spend summers at their cottage, which they built, in Littleton, MA. In July of 1961 they would move to Arlington Heights, where they built a house on property that Evelyn’s family owned. Evelyn would spend the next 35 years in Arlington.

Evelyn was a Saleswoman, employed by Gilchrist Dept. Store, of Boston. She worked there for over 10 years before she moved to Arlington. She was also a member of the Son’s of Italy of Somerville. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Eugene J. Mochi and his wife Cynthia, Richard J. Mochi and his wife Debra all of Medford.One daughter Evelyn M. Doran and her husband Jonathan of Townsend.Loving grandmother of William E. Doran, Gina, Dante, Eugene and Richard Mochi.Sister of the late Carmen Picardi.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 5 thru 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
