Diamantina (Silva) Amaral, age 98, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of the late Jose Amaral and the daughter of the late João Ferreira Silva and Maria Eulalia (Oliveira) Silva. Prior to retiring, Diamantina worked as a sewing machine operator, and was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, active member of the St. Michael`s Feast Committee.
She is survived by her 2 sons: John Amaral of Fall River and Joseph Amaral, of New Bedford; siblings: Eulalia Rego, Zulmira Silva, Adriano and João Silva all of Fall River; grandchildren: Brent and Christopher Amaral; great granddaughter: Preston Amaral; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose Ferreira Silva and Leonilda F. Silva.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
