Obituary

John B. Roy, 94, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away on March 22, 2015 at his residence after a period of declining health.
He was born in Ham Nord, Quebec, Canada on June 7, 1920 to Hector and Rose (Pouliot) Roy.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army at Guadalcanal and New Guinea.
Mr. Roy worked as a tool and die maker at Granite State Machine Company and Gulton Industries, both in Manchester, NH, for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Y. (Bouchard) Roy in 2004 and by four siblings, Claire Martel, Urbain Roy, Gerard Roy and Joseph Roy.
The family includes a daughter, Connie DeGrandmaison and her husband, Nelson, of Hammonton, NJ; two grandsons, Chris and Jason DeGrandmaison; a great grandson, Grayden DeGrandmaison; three siblings, Irene Gagne and Russell Roy both of California and Robert Roy of Milford, NH; and nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to our family and friends who have been so supportive in this time of sorrow. A special note of thanks to our Samaritan Shore Group family who so lovingly watched over Dad.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Lowell Street, Manchester, NH. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
