Harry S. Kurtigian, Jr., 90, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the Christopher House of Worcester. Born in Worcester, Harry was the son of the late Margaret (Kizirian) and Harry Kurtigian. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. Harry was a welder at the Merrill & Usher Steel Co. of Worcester, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour. Harry enjoyed traveling, using the computer, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and gambling in Las Vegas, Foxwoods, and Mohegan Sun.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillian R. (Babijonas) Kurtigian as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. His sister, Eliza Haffty, died in 2010.
Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street on Friday, March 27, 2015. A calling hour will be held at 10:00am followed by the service at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester MA 01609.
