TEWKSBURY - Alice P. (Oleaga) Marcotte, 76, a well known retired Tewksbury school systemguidance counselor, died Monday morning, April 8, at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valleyin Billerica. She was the wife of George M. Marcotte, with whom she had celebrated a 52ndwedding anniversary this past June 4th.
She was born in Springfield, Mass., a daughter of Felix and Emma (Ibchen) Oleaga, and raised inSpringfield. She had lived in Tewksbury for more than 40 years.
She received her post high school education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, andwent on to attend the University of Vermont and the University of New Mexico. She continuedher accreditation programs at several area colleges over the span of her teaching and counselingcareer.
She was a member of the Tewksbury Congregational Church, and a member of the church’sFriendly Guild.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas G and Patricia(Stevens) Marcotte of No. Andover, James A. and Pamela (Marcoux) Marcotte of Londonderry,NH, and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Gregory Marcotte.
Her funeral was held Friday, April 12, in the Tewksbury Congregational Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
