Obituary

Hanson – Kenneth William Rogers, Sr. 74, a longtime resident of Hanson, passed away Saturday March 21 in the Tufts Medical Center, Boston after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Christine L. (Rose) Rogers.

Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Florence L. (Forest) Rogers.

Ken had been a resident of Rockland for 20 years before his move to Hanson 14 years ago, and had worked over 20 years for the Chrysler Corporation. Prior to his retirement he had been a Fleet Manager for Quest Diagnostics.

He was a sports fan, appreciated the challenge of a good puzzle, and he along with his wife Chris had spent summers camping at Ellis Haven of Plymouth. He had enjoyed the leisure time he spent relaxing by the Cape Cod Canal but his greatest joy was following the many events of his cherished grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Christine he is survived by his loving children Kim Rogers of Hanson and Kenneth Rogers, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Carver, his siblings David Rogers of Brockton, Richard Rogers of West Bridgewater, Jean Kenney of CA, Lois Galvin of Abington, Janet Milligan of Abington and Barbara Frangie of Norwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kris M. Rogers, Shane M. Burns and Dylan J. Burns as well as many nieces and nephews. He predeceased by his brother Paul Rogers.

Family and friends are invited to attend his services on Saturday March 28th at 4:00 PM, visiting hours will be held prior to his service from 2:00-4:00 in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A private burial will be held at the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
