Susan “Susie” Bradanese Pippo of Needham died on Wednesday January 19th at the Briarwood Health Care in Needham. Born in the North End of Boston on March 23, 1913, she attended and graduated from the Michelangelo School in the North End, followed by her high school years at Miss Farmer Scholl of Social Sciences on Commonwealth Ave., Boston. Due to depression years, she worked at various places in Boston for a few years and then attended and graduated from the Emerson School of Household Nursing in Concord in 1940. Her love of children made pediatrics her own special specialty. Following her marriage she became a resident of Needham in 1956 where she lived for over 50 years. As owner and manager of the Needham Florist on Highland Ave., she also graduated from Ritners School of Floral Design. In addition she was well known to many in Needham as a sales assistant at Calvert’s and lastly as a sales assistant at the Berkeley Store in Needham until 1993. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at the Glover Hospital and also volunteer worked at the Needham Senior Center. Beloved wife of the late Anthony “ Tony” Pippo.
Aunt and stepmother of Laura Pippo of Needham, Anthony Pippo of Miami and Joyce Civita of Dedham. Grandmother of Carlo (Skip) Civita of Needham, Paul Civita of Mansfield, Suzanne Cahill of Norton and Emily Tract of Miami. One of eleven children, (eight of whom have predeceased her) she is survived by her brother Mario of Kingston and her sister Olga English of Needham as well as five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
