Benjamin T. Quickmire III
...WWII Army Veteran; Co-Operated the High Hat Roller Rink in Lowell; 78
TEWKSBURY - Benjamin T. Quickmire III, age 78, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, Jan. 22, at the Wentworth Skilled Care Center in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Frances M. (McCoy) Quickmire, who died in 1994.
He was born in Newton, MA, Aug. 14, 1926, and was raised in Cambridge and Waltham. Mr. Quickmire had lived in Tewksbury since 1953.
During WWII, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and served in the Asiatic, Pacific, and Philippine Theaters.
He co-operated the former Hi Hat Roller Rink in Lowell and later became a machinist at BLH Co. in Waltham, where he retired.
He was a communicant of St. William's Church in Tewksbury.
He is survived by a son Benjamin Quickmire IV and his wife Cathylynn of Lowell, a daughter Jeanette O'Neil and her husband John of Hillsboro, NH; four grandchildren, Benjamin T. Quickmire V, John E. O'Neil Jr., Christina L. O'Neil, and Cristylynn Garcia; and four great grandchildren.
His funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 25. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
