Floyd C. Powell, 90, of Irwin County, Georgia died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. John K. Mobley officiating. Visitation will be held at Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, from 7:00 until 9:00 Saturday evening.
Mr. Powell was born February 5, 1914, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late A. M. and Nancy Gibbs Powell. He had lived in Irwin County all of his life. He was a Farmer and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Mr. Powell served two terms as an Irwin County Commissioner from 1980-1988.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife: Mable Powell; two sons: Allen Powell and Mike Powell, both of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister: Marie McEwen of Fitzgerald; and one brother: Jesse Powell of Tyrone, GA.
