John J. Monteiro. Age 71. Husband of Emily Mary (Ferry) Monteiro. Residence 3203 Sharps Lot Road, Dighton, MA. Died Friday at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. Born in Somerset, MA. Son of Virginia (Rezendes) Monteiro and the late John S. Monteiro. He was a Dighton resident since 1963. He retired after 21 years at the J & J Corrugated Box Company where he worked as a press operator. He was also a member of the Bay State Beagle Club. He was parishioner of St. Peter Church, Main St., Dighton, MA.
Besides his Wife of Dighton and Mother of Attleboro he is survived by 5 Sons: John Monteiro Jr. of Somerset, Michael Monteiro of Providence, Kevin J. Monteiro of Fall River, Peter Jonas Monteiro of Mansfield and Jeffrey J. Monteiro of Dighton. 2 Daughters: Candy Calder of Lynn and Jennifer A. Foster of Dighton. 2 Sisters: Margaret Martin of Dighton and Patricia McCann of Orlando, FL.11 Grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Robert Monteiro.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. in St. Peter Church, Main St., Dighton. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Tuesday 5-9 P.M.
