Ruby Wheeles McCall, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, January 21, 2005, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 22, 2005, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating.
Mrs. McCall was born November 27, 1911, in Elbert County, Georgia, to the late Oscar H. and Cordelia Burt Wheeles. She lived in the community most of her life. During World War II, she worked at the ship yards in Brunswick. She was a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills and the former owner/operator of Ruby’s Coffee Shop. She attended the Fitzgerald Church of God.
Mrs. McCall is survived by one sister: Lollie Deese of Dublin; several nieces and nephews including: John Deese of Dublin and Earl Deese of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several great nieces and nephews; and a caregiver: Esther Slacks of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William McCall.
