John B. Kimball, 87, of Manchester, NH, died Thursday, January 20, 2005 in the Hackett Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester. Mr. Kimball was born in W. Medford, MA on January 28, 1917, a son of the late Charles W. and Willamina (Bauman) Kimball. He was a resident of Manchester for the past four years, formerly living in Derry, NH for 24 years & Medford, MA. Mr. Kimball graduated from Medford High School and later from Tufts University School of Engineering, both in Medford. He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for R.D. Kimball Company, Reading, MA from which he retired. He also worked for Hadco Corp. in Derry as a plant engineer. He was a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a member of the Derry Seniors and the Raymond Seniors. Mr. Kimball volunteered in Derry as an adult literacy teacher. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol J. Riley of Chelmsford, MA, his son, John C. Kimball and his wife Diane of Concord, NH, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie A. (O'Connor) Kimball in 2000.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24th at 1:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery E. Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.
