David L. Koontz, 66, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at his home. He was born in Lynch, Kentucky.
At one time, he was in the Coast Guard, retired from the Air Force and also belonged to the Air Guard. He enjoyed jogging, boxing, golfing, diving, and also playing the guitar and the computer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, F.L. and Norma “Jerlene” Koontz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, of 13 years; children, Ann Margaret Gutterman (Robby), Suzanne Hurt, Elizabeth Hurt and sister, Maggie Koontz Eden (Russ); grandchildren, Kimberlee, Andrew, Amanda, Allison, Matthew and Michael; nephews, Max and Stacey.
A memorial visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00pm Monday, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway followed by a private family service.
In lieu of flowers expressions may be made to the Salvation Army.
