Obituary


Dr. Charles D. Fouraker, 84, of Callahan, FL passed away Friday evening, March 20, 2015.
He was born February 1, 1931 in Wellborn, FL and moved to Callahan 20 years ago from Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of Franklin Street Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U. S. Air Force. Rev. Fouraker held bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in theology and pastored churches for 60 years in FL, GA, TN and IL. He retired from Thomas Creek Church in Callahan.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Doris Fouraker who passed away in 2011 and by a son, Greg Fouraker, who passed away in 2014.
Rev. Fouraker is survived by a son and daughter in law, Todd and Angie Fouraker of Callahan, FL; two brothers, Walter and Mac Kent; a sister, Degee McMullen; two granddaughters and their husbands, Ashley and Chris Elswick and Brittany and Chad Goble; three great grandchildren, Olivia, Landen and Emily (arriving in July) Elswick; and his faithful canine companion, Sugar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday March 24, at Franklin Street Baptist Church with Dr. Terry Gore officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Bro. Rodney Keith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Charles D. Fouraker Memorial Fund. Checks should be made in the name of Angela Fouraker.
