Obituary

Kenneth E. Karspeck, 79, of Glocester died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at his residence in Longboat Key, Florida. He was the loving husband of Elke (Staffhorst) Karspeck.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Emil and Marie (Wittenberg) Karspeck. He had previously lived in Smithfield for 25 years, before moving to Glocester.

Mr. Karspeck had received his Masters degree in Business Accounting from URI, after attending Pace University and obtaining his Bachlor’s degree in Accounting. He had worked as a controller for the Blackstone Valley Electric Company for 34 years. He had served in the Army.

He was an active member of the BVE Retirement Club, and a 32nd Degree Mason, having previously acted as the Master of the E.L. Freeman Lodge. Mr. Karspeck enjoyed golfing, bowling and boating.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Wendy M. Karspeck of Smithfield, Walter K. Karspeck and his wife Brenda of North Smithfield, and his grandchildren: Evan W. Karspeck, Kyle J. Karspeck, and Jessica G. Karspeck.

Funeral service Friday at 11:30am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD funeral home. Visitation 4-7pm Thursday in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the >WoundedWarriorProject
