Obituary

Raymond P. Levesque, 86, of Hooksett, died March 18, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Derry on May 29, 1928, he was the son of Joseph and Aurore (Landry) Levesque. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy and was a correspondent of his class to the ALUMNUS newsletter for many years. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Navy, serving on the USS Achelous. He lived in Goffstown for 38 years before moving to Hooksett in 1989. He also enjoyed many winters in Florida.
Mr. Levesque joined the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1956 as a sales representative and in later years was president of the North East territory Veterans Association for two terms. He retired from that company after 27 years of service. He then worked part time for U-Haul and stayed there for 11 years before retiring again. He enjoyed card playing, fishing, traveling, camping and spending time with his large family. He also loved history and took great pride in taking his family to historic sites over the years.
His late wife of 52 years, the former Pauline Lacroix, died in 2002. He also leaves five daughters, Nanette Levesque of Manchester, Anita Blanchette of Bedford, Patricia Henderson of Wilton, Frances Tuthill of Arizona, and Celia Heavisides of Goffstown; three sons, Joseph Levesque of Manchester, Roger Levesque of Derry and Steven Levesque of Dunbarton; He leaves his present wife, Francoise Levesque of Hooksett. He also leaves two step-daughters, Susan Berntsen and Christine Biron. In addition, he leaves 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2015 in St. Peter Church, Auburn. Burial with military honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
