Eileen M. (Costa) Silva, 84, of Adamsville, RI, died peacefully on Wednesday March 18, 2015 at her son’s home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Alfred “Big Fred” Silva.
Born in Westport, she was the daughter of the late Antone C. Rosinha and Margaret (Charette) Rosinha Thatcher. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a home health aide for Mar-com Home Care Nursing. Mrs. Silva was a member of the American Legion of Little Compton.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Thomas Silva and his wife Betty of Adamsville and Steven Silva and his wife Sandy of Portsmouth; 2 sisters: Patricia Dean and her husband George, Toni Taylor and her husband John, both of Westport; 10 grandchildren: Lisa, Heidi, Alfred “Alfie”, Eckert, William, Maurice, Melissa, Kristina, Sabrina and Marisa; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Barbara Ann Poutre and Alfred “Buster” Silva, Jr. and sister of the late Margaret “Peg” Oliveira, Albert C. and Charles C. Rosinha.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:30 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be from 9:30-11 A.M. prior to the Mass, at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment will be private.
