Robert Peacock Warren, Sr., 81, of Bedford, NH, died March 17, 2015, at Sanctuary Care, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 25, 1933, in Lubec, Maine, the youngest child of Lois Peacock and Milroy Warren. Following his grammar school years in Lubec, Bob attended high school at Deerfield Academy, in Deerfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1956 with a degree in Economics. While at Bowdoin, Bob was a member of ROTC, Alpha Delta Phi fraternity and Track.
During his break from Bowdoin, Bob was introduced to a Lubec High School Home Economics teacher named Virginia Ann Healy, originally from Eastport, Maine. After a long distance courtship, Bob and Ginny were married on June 23, 1956, in Eastport. Due to Bob’s ROTC commitment at Bowdoin, and commission as an officer in the US Army, the first few years of their marriage were spent in Fort Knox, Kentucky, where their daughter Lynne was born; and in Frankfurt, Germany, where their daughter, Martha, was born. Upon completion of Bob’s commission in the Army, Bob and Ginny returned home to Downeast Maine. Bob began working as a salesman with St. Croix Paper Company, and Bob and Ginny moved to Woodland, Maine, where their son, Stephen, was born. When the company was purchased by Georgia-Pacific Paper Company, Bob was transferred first to Stamford, Connecticut, where their son, Robert, Jr., was born and subsequently to Acton, Massachusetts. Bob left Georgia-Pacific and became a salesman for Bass Shoe Company and in 1968, the family relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where their daughter, Pamela, was born.
In 1980, Bob and Ginny returned to their beloved New England and moved to Bedford, New Hampshire, where they resided for 34 years. As active members of the community, Bob was in the real estate business and Ginny was a teacher at McKelvie Middle School. Bob and Ginny enjoyed walking, boating, playing tennis, skiing, and anything involving their 13 grandchildren! Bob lost the love of his life, Ginny, on February 2, 2013. After Ginny’s passing, Bob lived briefly at River Walk and Bentley Commons in Bedford, and for the past year and a half, he has been a resident of the nurturing community at Sanctuary Care at Rye, in Rye, NH.
Bob is preceded in death by his dear wife Virginia Healy Warren in 2013; his parents, Lois and Milroy Warren; and his siblings, Dorothy Crane, James Warren and John Warren.
