Obituary

Of Leominster, formerly of Fitchburg and Boston Jan. 18, 2005. Beloved daughter of the late Bernard M. and Veronica (Hirl) Tarpey. Devoted sister of Patricia A. Golden of Jaffrey, N.H. and the late Bernard R. Tarpey, Dorothy A. Havey and John F. Tarpey. Dear sister-in-law of Kathryn Tarpey of Easton and Marie Tarpey of West Roxbury. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and their families.


Funeral from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Saturday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Holy Name Church, West Roxbury at 10:00. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Former member of the Sisters of Charity (Halifax) "Sr. Bernard Mary" from 1941-1976. Marie was a former Acting President and Vice President of Academic Affairs for Trinity College, Washington, D.C., former Dean of The School of Liberal Arts, State University of New York @ Alfred, former V.P. of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculity for Elmira College, Elmira, N.Y., former V.P. of Academic Affairs for Pikeville College, Pikeville, Kentucky, former Dean of Faculity and Academic Affairs for Wilmington College, New Castle, DE, former Adjunct Professor of History for Mt. Saint Vincent University at Seton Hall and interpreter at Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA.

Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
