Obituary

Long time Prosser resident, Della Davison, 98, peacefully passed away of natural causes at Sheffield Manor on Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Della was born December 29, 1916 in Atlanta, Nebraska to Ralph and Leona Salyers. Della moved from Nebraska to Prosser Washington in 1940 and has called the lower valley and Prosser home ever since.

In her youth, Della grew up on a farm near Atlanta, Nebraska. She and Carl Lonn were married in Holdrege, Nebraska in 1936. Della and her husband Carl moved to the Prosser area in 1940. Carl and two children died unexpectedly in 1947. In 1949, Della married John Davison, with whom she lovingly shared the next 61 years. She and John joined the United Methodist Church shortly after marrying which has remained their church home. In retirement, Della was an active member of Prosser’s Senior Citizens Center, and coordinated Thursday night pinochle for many years. Della’s many passions included cooking, gardening, and many hand crafts. She cherished her many family and friends.

Della was preceded in death by; husband Carl, daughter Etta, son Delmar Lonn; and husband John Davison.

She leaves behind; son, Jim Davison and wife Margaret, Toppenish, WA, daughter, Lona (Lonn) Lyle and husband Bill, Wasilla, AK, son, Lynn Davison and wife Teresa, Benton City, WA; grandchildren, Robert Davison and wife Audrey, Oak Harbor, WA, Michael Davison and wife Annette, Snohomish, WA, Steven Davison and wife Erin, Bremerton, WA, Garred Lyle and wife Andrea, Brighton, CO, Scott Davison and wife Kelly, Denver, CO, Sarah Davison, Grants Pass, OR, Shannon (Davison) LaRocca and husband Evan, Tumwater, WA; great grandchildren Mathew, Timothy, Lauran, James, Sally, Stephanie, Emily, Kyle, and Katherine Davison, Kaiya, Noah, and Malia Lyle; many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family and special friends Harvey Schmidt, Prosser, WA, Hazel (Schmidt) Blackmore and husband Denzel, Redmond, OR; Sena Lundberg, Sunnyside, WA; Janice Kline, Prosser. WA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28th 2015, at 1:30 pm at the Prosser Funeral Home located at 1220 Sheridan Avenue.

Memorial donations can be made to Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care (Sunnyside, WA); Prosser Senior Citizens Center (Prosser, WA), Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels – Prosser (Kennewick, WA), United Methodist Church (Prosser, WA) or the charity of your choice.
