Obituary

George B. Rose, age 75, passed away on March 15, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 18, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a son of the late Bernard and Virginia (McCormack) Rose. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. George worked as a mechanic for Clark Lift for many years before he retired. He was a communicant of St Anthony of Padua Parish. He was a member of AARP, the DAV and loved spending quality time with his family and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Frances (Gawlik) Rose, who passed away in 2012. He leaves 3 sons, David Rose of Chicopee, Richard Rose of Washington State and Walter Rose of Belchertown; 1 daughter Darlene Rose of Chicopee; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan, Alexandra, Matthew, Jennifer, Kathrine, Richard Jr. along with 1 great grandchild, Cadance. George also leaves his brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Mar. 19, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
