Obituary


Jacqueline M. (Burnham) Scully, 83, of Kingston formerly of Scituate, passed away on Monday, March16th in the Wingate at Sliver Lake in Kingston. She was the devoted wife of more than 57 years to her childhood sweetheart, the late Charles F. Scully.

Jackie was born in Boston, daughter of the late Donald and Florence (Tobin) Burnham. She was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin in 1950.

She was employed with John Hancock until leaving to start her family. Jackie and Charlie raised their five children in Weymouth and then fulfilled their dream of moving to Scituate, where they enjoyed another 29 years together. They enjoyed traveling to Aruba, taking cruises and family get-togethers poolside.

Jacqueline’s family would like to thank the staff of Wingate at Silver Lake and Cranberry Hospice for the excellent care received by their mother.

She is survived by her children Diane Scully and her husband John LaBrache of Kingston, Brian Scully and his wife Denise of Abington, Michael Scully and his wife Dianne Sferruzza of Plympton, John Scully and his wife Elizabeth of Holbrook and James Scully of FL., her grandchildren, Brian and his wife Kathleen, Peter and his wife Lindsey, Elizabeth, Michael and his wife Amanda, Meghan Murphy and her husband Charles, Neil, Olivia and Noah, her great- grandchildren, Thomas, Charles, Taylor, Bridget, Charles Murphy, Molly, Braden Murphy, Theodore and Paige, her sisters Doris Wilmoth of Middleboro and Carol Peterson and her husband John of Plympton, her sisters-in-law, Dorothea Scully of Quincy and Shelvy Burnham of Brockton. She was also the sister of the late Donald Burnham.

Her funeral services will be held on Friday March 20th at 10:00 AM in the St. Mary’s the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Burial will follow in the Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate. Her visitation will be held on Thursday March 19th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman.
