George Samuel Noris, 97, passed away on October 8, 2014. The son of Italian immigrants Pietro and Santina Noris, George was born and raised in Milton, Massachusetts. Like others of his generation, George appreciated the value of hard work. His work life spanned many decades including a childhood job delivering milk from a horse-drawn carriage, running an auto service station and working in a local hardware store. He fondly remembered participating in the Civilian Conservation Corps and also served in the military during WWII and the Korean Conflict. George married Eileen Sutherland in 1947 and together they raised six children. They moved to Indian Harbor Beach, Florida in 1961 where their lives focused on family, work, and community. They were involved in school activities, Little League, and George served on the City Council. George also developed a love of golf which was his hobby for many, many years. They delighted in their grandchildren and were devoted to each other until Eileen’s death in 1998. George was predeceased by his wife Eileen and his son John. He was also preceded in death by his siblings; Josephine D’urso, Alice Jones, John Noris, and Irene Baldini.He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. Anne Noris, son-in-law Jeff Slayton, granddaughter Emma Slayton (Seattle, WA), Peter Noris, granddaughter Caitlyn Boyle (Kristien) ;great grandson Henry , great granddaughter Claire (Charlotte, NC), Beth Talaga, son-in-law Dan Talaga (Gainesville, FL), Mary Ellen Noris-Adams, son-in-law Pat Adams (Orlando, FL), Paul Noris, daughter-in-law Lynn Noris, granddaughters Kelsey and Delaney (Lakeland, FL). Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton Saturday March 21st at 10:30 am. Burial of ashes will follow at Milton Cemetery.
