Robert Lee Holifield, 79, of Brookfield passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Holifield was born February 8, 1936 in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Robert Buckner Holifield. He was retired from the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War and the Korean War and received the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of the Tiftarea Coin Club and had lived in Brookfield for 18 years.
Mr. Holifield is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lynne Martha Allen Holifield of Brookfield; three sons, Robert Buckner Holifield of Seaside, California, Charles Allen Holifield of Lancaster, California and Richard Lee Holifield of Brookfield; three grandchildren, Rochelle Lynne Holifield, Lora Lee Holifield and Richard Lee Holifield, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Randall Lee Holifield and Jayson Miles Miller.
