Obituary

James P. "Jim" Driscoll, a lifelong resident of South Boston, entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. He was 76 years old.

Jim was born in Boston on January 16, 1939, a son of the late William J. Driscoll and Josephine (Pettee) Driscoll. He grew up in South Boston where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Jim worked as an electrician for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and retired in 2014 after 40 years of dedicated service. Jim enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire, dancing, listening to opera music and most of all spending time with all of his nieces and nephews.

Jim is the beloved husband of the late Alice (Ployer) Driscoll. He is the devoted brother of the late Mary Evans, John Driscoll, William Driscoll and Edward Driscoll. He is also the loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jim's Funeral on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 8:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Brigid's Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
