EAST BRIDGEWATER - Gerald J. “Skip” Ortenzi Sr., 56, of East Bridgewater died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 19, at his home. He was the wife of Mariana (Snow) Ortenzi.
Born in Brockton, the son of the late Armand J. and Sylvia (Malispino) Ortenzi, he was a lifelong resident of East Bridgewater.
Mr. Ortenzi was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School, Class of 1966.
He was employed with TL Edwards Trucking Company in Avon, where he was a truck driver.
Mr. Ortenzi drove a truck his entire career and it was one of his passions. His family was his other passion, as well his family.
He loved working in his yard in East Bridgewater and was a member of A.A. for 22 years.
In addition to his wife, Mariana, whom he was married to for 27 years, he is survived by his children, Jodi Dalto of East Bridgewater, Jeff Ortenzi of Halifax and Nick Ortenzi of East Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Anthony, Maria and Isabella Dalto and Dominic Ortenzi.
His funeral will be held from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St.(Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Saturday, Jan. 22, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. John Church, East Bridgewater. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
Visiting hours are Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
