Roland H. Robitaille, 88, of Londonderry, NH passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA. He was born on September 9, 1926 in Lowell, MA a son of the late John and Eva (Patnaude) Robitaille and was a lifelong resident of Londonderry. Roland served in the US Navy during World War II and was given an honorable discharge in 1946. He held two jobs for many years, worked in numerous shoe factories and was a night bartender at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Derry. Roland was an avid animal lover. He owned many horses and would give trail rides in the many apple orchards in Londonderry.
He leaves behind his daughters, Deborah Smith of Haverhill, MA and Candace Schofield of Chester, NH; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including his niece Irene Morrissette and her husband Gerald whom he was very close to. He also leaves behind his beloved Border Collie, Jesse. Roland was predeceased by all six of his siblings, Raymond, Leo, Norman, Cecile, Pauline and Beattie.
There are no calling hours. Private memorial services will be held by the family at a later date. Roland’s family wishes to thank all the medical staff at Parkland Medical Center and the Wingate Nursing Home for all the love and care he was given each and every day.
