Obituary

Doris Houghton, 79, died March 11, 2015 after a long illness. She was born in Manchester on May 24, 1935 to George and Cecile (Maple) Vincent and was a lifelong resident.

She attended local schools and was a student of West High.

Until her retirement in 1998 she was a sales rep for American Greeting.

Doris had many interests including reading, crocheting and, her greatest passion, baking. Her "claim to fame" among her large extended family was her Whoopie Pies, the recipe for which is known only to two individuals who are not allowed to fly on the same airplane. She was generous with her beautifully crocheted Afghans, giving them for births, weddings and "just because". Each of her four grandchildren were amongst her grateful recipients, all of which incorporated favorite colors and designs.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Richard Houghton as well as two siblings, Rene Vincent and Aline Mauti. Family members include three daughters, Robin Houghton-Flynn and her husband James, Susan Houghton and her husband Gary Hunter and Lisa Houghton-Barber and her husband, Michael; two sons, Kevin Houghton and Sean Houghton; one brother, Robert Vincent; four grandchildren, Brendan Flynn, Adam Flynn, Kate Houghton and Grady Barber; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place at a later date at the New St. Joseph's Cemetery 448 Donald St. Bedford, NH 03110
