David Joe Dillon

David Joe Dillon, 72, of Anderson, died March 13, 2015, surrounded by his family, at the Woodlands in Muncie following an extended illness.
He was born on May 27, 1942 in Anderson, the son of Robert E. and Mabel G. (Higgens) Dillon. He was a 1960 graduate of Highland High School and a 1965 graduate of Purdue University. He worked for IBM as a Systems Engineer for 35 years, and following his retirement he work as an independent consultant for various associates of IBM. He was a member of Lindberg Road Church of Christ (now Journey Church of Christ), and the NRA. He served on the Mill Creek Civic Center Board and the Madison County Historical Society Board. He was an avid non fiction reader and was a history buff.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Sue (Bedwell) Dillon of Anderson, 2 children, Tara Hall and Sean (Litsey) Dillon of Anderson, 3 grandchildren, Shelby Hall, David Dillon, and Nathan Dillon. 3 nephews, Russ Dillon, Brian Seward, Roger Seward and their families. Mother in law, Marjory Clute, Brother in law, Fred Bedwell, sister-in-law, Tonya (Jim) Richey, and nieces Amy and Sarah
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ronnie Dillon and Robert Seward, a sister, Jacqueline Bennett, and a nephew, Randy Dillon.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 10 AM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service. Private burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemtery.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service.
The family prefers that memorial donations be given to the Alzheimers Association or to Journey Church of Christ in lieu of sending flowers.
The family would like to thank the staff of Meridian at Ball Memorial Hospital and the staff of Woodlands in Muncie, especially Sandy, for their special care of David.
