Catherine Lagomarsino Wood passed away peacefully on March 11, 2015, with family present, after a long illness. The middle child of Emilio Lagomarsino and Marjorie (Gates) Lagomarsino, Catherine was born in Oxnard on July 23, 1929.
She was raised in Ventura, graduated from Saint Catherine's Academy in 1946, and attended Marymount, USC, and Ventura College. Catherine had a life-long involvement in her family's businesses, including Lagomarsino's Wholesale Liquor distributorship, Lagomarsino Citrus, and Lagomarsino Minerals. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of American Commercial Bank until its acquisition by Mid-State Bank. Catherine involved herself in a number of charities, including the Assistance League and the Forty Leaguers. She was also a past president of the Villanova Prep Mothers' Club. In her personal life, she loved to travel the world. She enjoyed water skiing and sailing, and was a member of the Ventura Yacht Club. She shared her kind and loving nature through her wonderful sense of humor with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Richard Lagomarsino.
She is survived by her husband Jack Weldon Wood; sons Thomas J. Wood and John A. Wood; grandsons Taylor Wood and Aubrey Wood, her brother Robert J. Lagomarsino and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday March 18, 2015 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME 757 E. Main Street Ventura with a Most Holy Rosary to be Recited at 7pm in the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 19, 2015 at 10am in San Buenaventura Roman Catholic Mission, Main Street Ventura followed by Interment in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
