…US Army Veteran; age 100
TEWKSBURY - Antonio V. Amorelli, age 100, died peacefully in his sleep, Thursday, March 12, at Northwood in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian G. (Gelineau) Amorelli, who died in 1967, and later Alma (Reynolds) Amorelli who died in 2001.
He was born in Lawrence, October 10, 1914, one of five children of the late Michael and Angelina Amorelli, was raised in Lawrence, but lived the greater part of his life in Lowell. He moved to the Carnation Drive senior housing in Tewksbury in 2003.
During WWII, he served stateside in the U.S. Army, and was awarded Good Conduct, and Victory Medals, along with an American Campaign Ribbon.
He worked as a professional plasterer in commercial and residential construction. “Tony” was an avid and accomplished golfer, and held membership at the Tyngsboro Golf Club into his 94th years of age.
He leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Philip Keon of Tewksbury, Katherine and Edward Sullivan of Lowell, a son, Michael Amorelli of Nashua, eight grandchildren; six great grand children; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Kathleen (Johnson) Amorelli; two grandsons, David Keon and Edward Sullivan; and his siblings, Charles Amorelli, Katherine Barbagalo, Ella Sergi, and Joseph Amorelli.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday, March 16, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph.
