Merle (Smith) Gilbert, 91, of Anderson went to be with her Lord, March 9, 2015 at Edgewater Woods.
She was born October 6, 1923 in Alabama to Dexter Lee and Eula Mae (Taylor) Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of South Meridian Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanese (Jim) Friend; son, Steve (Patty) Gilbert; her brother, Jim (JoAnne) Smith; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd Gilbert died February 7, 2012, five siblings and infant daughter, Dorthea Janesa.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Dale Landis of South Meridian Church of God officiating with burial to follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 until the service at 2 P.M. on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be given to Youth Group at South Meridian Church of God.
