JAFFREY – Theresa Drouin, 87, of 20 Plantation Drive, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Good Shephard Health Care Center in Jaffrey after a long illness.
She was born on November 11, 1927 in Laconia, the daughter of Emile and Yvonne (Bolduc) Fortin. In younger years, Theresa worked as a waitress, a mill worker and an in home caregiver. She spent most of her adult life caring for her husband who struggled with a debilitating illness. Theresa enjoyed needlepoint and crafts, cooking for her family, trips to Canada and researching genealogy. She enjoyed camping with family and friends and was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her two sons; Michael E. Drouin and his wife Suzanne of Bristol and Richard Drouin and his wife Colleen of Bristol, four daughters; Diane Petell and her husband Bruce of Harrisville, Denise Foote of Phoenix, AZ, Jacqueline Drouin of Pine, AZ and May Drouin of Lawrence, Kansas, eleven grandchildren; Joshua Drouin of PA, Nathan Isabelle of ME, Chris Isabelle of NM, Nick Isabelle of AZ, Caillyn Drouin of KS, Regan McAllister of KS, Michaela Drouin of NH, Katie Drouin of NH, Sarah Kelley of NH, Jaime Julius of AZ and Eric Foote of TN, several great grandchildren, one sister, Arlene Sayward of Belmont and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilbrod Drouin in 1988, four brothers; Paul Fortin, Roger Fortin, Maurice Fortin and Arthur Fortin and two sisters; Rachel Laplante and Rita Roukema.
Calling hours will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1PM at . Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia. Burial will follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of New Hampshire, 215 Myrtle Street, Manchester, NH 03104-4354.
