James L. "Jim" Fitch
Oct. 11, 1925 -March 7, 2015

James L. "Jim" Fitch, 89, of Anderson died March 7, 2015 at his residence.

He was born October 11, 1925 in Charleston, West Virginia to Odin and Anna (Lewis) Fitch.

He served in the Merchant Marines and in the U.S. Army.

He was a forecaster for Chesapeake-Potomac Telephone of West Virginia.

He attended Madison Park Church of God, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers; and an avid bird watcher.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary (Rust) Fitch of Anderson whom he married October 5, 1957 in West Virginia; his four children, David Fitch (Conny); Susie (Calvin) Pleninger; Mary Anna Fitch and Betsy (Chris) Beckley; grandchildren, Jeremy Fitch; Jacob Smith; Nicholas Adams; Daniel Pleninger; Maddie Pleninger and Megan Beckley; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Swift and Alice Fitch.

Services will be 4 P.M. on Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Malbone officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 Thursday at the funeral home.

Entombment will be Saturday at Cunningham Park in St. Albans, West Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association or Southern Care Hospice.
