Hubert Hogan, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Crossview Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6 to 7:30, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Hogan was born January 23, 1924, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Luther Lee & Stella Hogan. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps and retired with 46 years of service with CSX railroad as a trainman. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Mr. Hogan was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Laverne McCranie Hogan; two sons: Lee & Lisa Hogan and Len & Dene` Hogan, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Lexi Hogan, Ty Hogan and Hadlee Hogan; and a sister: Maxine & Mack Spinx of Jefferson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
