Obituary

Gerard Henri Remillard, 85, of Auburn, NH and Englewood, FL died March 6, 2015 at his Florida residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester, NH on December 29, 1929, he was the son of Henri and Mary (Jobin) Remillard. He was educated in the Manchester school system and graduated from Central High School, class of 1950, and served honorably in the US Navy.
Prior to retirement, he was a New Hampshire State Trooper Sergeant for many years. In 1973 he received the Union Leader “Hero Award” for being one of seven officers who risked their own lives to save 9 persons who had plunged through the ice of Lake Massabesic in Auburn.
Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who cherished time spent with family and sought out ways to help all those that he loved in any way that he possibly could.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Shirley; 3 sons, Jerry Edward, Bruce Maurice, Thomas Henry Paige & spouse, Lorraine; 2 sisters, Madeleine Despins, Gertrude Croteau; sister-in-law, Phyllis Breton; and 7 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Auburn. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Auburn Volunteer Fireman’s Association, 6 Pingree Hill Road, Auburn, NH 03032.
