Clara A. (DeSanti) Kernicki, age 76, passed away on Feb.27, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on Mar. 4, 1938 in West Boylston, MA. She was the daughter of the late Claudio and Deborah (Elce) DeSanti. Clara was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Prish. She was a graduate of Venerini Academy in Worcester and tehn worked as a secretary for ITT Suprenaut, until she met her husband Peter Kernicki and married him on Oct. 22, 1960. She leaves her loving husband of 54 years, Peter Kernicki of Springfield; 2 daughters, Debbie Kernicki of Chicopee, and Cindy Kernicki and her partner Sean Lawler of Springfield; her sister, Lorraine Gardner and her partner Don Granger of West Boylston; 1 niece, Michelle Gardner Morrell, grand nieces and many other extended family members and close friends who will miss her dearly. A funeral service will be held on Wed., Mar.11, at 10:00 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA, followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Mt Vernon Cemetery in West Boylston, MA at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Tues., March 10, from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
