Madeline Olive (Spera) Foley of North Andover, formerly of Wayland passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Den-Mar Rehabilitation Center of Rockport. She was eighty-six years old.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1928, she was the devoted daughter of the late Louis and Madeline (Reid) Spera. She was raised in Brookline and a 1947 graduate of Brookline High School.
Mrs. Foley was the devoted wife of the late Michael F. Foley who passed away suddenly in 1969 after only ten years of marriage and three young children at home.
She worked as a crossing guard for the town of Wayland for fifteen years and sold Avon for over twenty-five years.
Madeline enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband Mike, going out to dinner, parlor games, comedies and music.
She was the loving mother of Kevin M. Foley and his wife Lisa of Norton, Susan A. Layne and her husband Felix of North Andover and Brian J. Foley and his wife Marta of Wayland. A cherished grandmother of Breana Foley of Norton, Alexa and Ashley Layne of N. Andover and Laura and Sarah Foley of Wayland and she is also survived by her cousins Charles Reid of Revere and Nancy Spera of Westford and James Reid of Escondido, California.
Madeline’s funeral will be held from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Friday, March 13th at 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St., (RT 27) Wayland at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 12th from 4:00-8:00PM in the funeral home. Burial in St. Zepherin’s Cemetery, Wayland.
